In a groundbreaking defensive move, Israel has utilized its Arrow missile-defense system to intercept a Houthi-fired ballistic missile outside of Earth’s atmosphere, marking the first known space combat incident. Launched from Yemen, the missile headed towards Eilat, but was successfully neutralized by the Arrow 2 system, specially designed for high-altitude interceptions. This action not only protected the target city but also demonstrated Israel’s capability to counteract the missile threat from the Iran-aligned Houthis and, by extension, Iran’s missile program. The event comes amidst a series of attacks by the Houthis, echoing a broader regional tension.
