UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak visited Israel to express solidarity after the Hamas attack, meeting with Israeli leaders and the families of UK citizens held hostage in Gaza. He condemned the attack, stating that world leaders should unite to prevent further escalation. Sunak also recognized Gazans as victims of Hamas and welcomed humanitarian aid to Gaza. President Biden and German Chancellor Scholz had visited Israel earlier. President Herzog expressed shock that the BBC refused to label Hamas as terrorists. The IDF reported over 1,400 Israeli casualties, including 306 soldiers, and 203 families informed of their loved ones held hostage in Gaza. Sunak planned to visit other regional countries.
