Eisenhower carrier strike groups, are positioned in and around the eastern Mediterranean. Additionally, the U.S. has expedited weapons shipments to Israel, including munitions for the Iron Dome system. U.S. special operations forces are collaborating with the Israeli military, though they remain non-combatant. The Pentagon has enhanced its airpower in the Middle East and Defense Secretary Austin has placed 2,000 U.S. troops on standby for potential deployment.
